Stuff.co.nz recently published my article on why I gave up drinking three years ago and what I’ve learned and gained since.
It’s one of the most important and influential single decisions I’ve made in my life, though it’s not for everyone.
I’ve travelled through Vanuatu, Dubai and Europe, been to the Football World Cup in Brazil, Rugby World Cup in England, bought a football club, learned basic Hungarian, had my first boxing fight, lived and worked in Budapest and now Manchester, developed my futsal coaching, made strides in my marketing career, been interviewed on national tv twice and met some amazing people along the way.
I made a simple choice to go out and have amazing experiences around the world …instead of getting drunk in New Zealand every weekend.
The comments have been fascinating and a real commentary on the alcohol culture in New Zealand.
The whole point of this blog… isn’t to tell you what to think, but just to promote thought through my experiences. Think for yourself and don’t buy into the culture you exist within if it doesn’t fit for you. Be deliberate. Be yourself.
